The 2020 Vintage Experience
Starting your day at 9.30 am, you will be welcomed by your personal driver and transported in style to the beautiful McLaren Vale wine district.
Arriving at the d'Arenberg Winery, you will be introduced to your knowledgeable guide, who will accompany you throughout the experience.
The structure of the day is built around the process of crafting a wine, following it from vineyard to barrel, through the stages of maturation and finally to bottle. Tastings and personalised insight will form an integral part of this experience, where you will get a first hand look at the intricacies of winemaking and discover how a wine is crafted.
The day starts with a hosted tour of Original Cellar including tasting from the barrel/open fermenter as well as viewing of foot treading or basket pressing of grapes (whatever is available on the day). Tasting in Original Cellar viewing platform of a selection of 6 wines would follow.
Guests will also have the unique opportunity to experience all the features of a working winery during vintage. Due to this, activities will vary from day to day as winemaking schedules fluctuate and change spontaneously. Each day is dictated by weather conditions, fruit readiness, intake levels and ripening stages, however, it is always an exciting time to get involved.
As an example, you may be privy to watching a freshly harvested load of fruit being delivered into the winery to be crushed/destemmed, seeing the wine press in action, ferments bubbling away or barrels being filled. But rest assured, no matter what day you visit throughout this period, each will be colourful, insightful and engaging.
This exclusive experience includes an amazing degustation lunch experience at d'Arry's Verandah Restaurant. The degustation includes signature Lobster entree, cheese and coffees and showcases the best of local and seasonal produce, the food experience is complimented by the extensive and world renowned d’Arenberg wine portfolio. d’Arry’s Verandah restaurant is housed in our restored 19th century homestead, with spectacular views of rolling hills and vineyards
Guests would then be welcome to head over to the Cube for a self-guided tour of the Alternate Realities Museum.
At approximately 3pm your driver will return you to your drop off point, arriving back at around 4pm.
Tour departs 7 days per week
Guests are required to wear enclosed shoes for this experience
